Astrophysics: the relativity of time
Re: Astrophysics: the relativity of time
that's a bit why it's not possible precisely ... it seems that at 15 years old, Einstein had thought that by going at the speed of light, his image in a mirror would disappear since the light would never reach the mirror, and so it gave a way to know its absolute speed ... which is contradictory with a fundamental principle of physics which is that the absolute speed is not measurable, one cannot can measure an acceleration or a speed relative to something else. Gifted dude ...

Nah, nah, if we turn around, we slow down (try to run at the speed of light while looking behind ...), so we see what had not yet reached our retina, then we see a memory ...

To go back to the past, we have to see quantum mechanics rather than relativity.

I thought it was all linked.
One without the other ?
So neither?

You don't know.
Me, I do not know.
How are you sure no one knows?

Because no one said he knew.
Light and matter by Richard Phillips Feynman
What I am going to tell you is nothing other than what we teach students who are preparing a thesis in physics. Do you really think I can explain all of this to you in such a way that you will understand it? No, it's not serious: you certainly won't understand. But then, you will say, why do you go to so much trouble? Why are you spending so much time in front of us if it's so that we don't understand what you're going to say?
Precisely, I set myself the goal that you stay here and listen to me. Because, to be honest, the students don't understand anything either. Why ? Quite simply because I do not understand it myself. No one else understands it.
