Well I have never seen a jet engine on a flying saucer ... : Mrgreen:

But I never saw a flying saucer in real life either!

Definitely, 2020 is also the year of the Asteroids!

Amateur astronomer finds near-Earth asteroid near Earth last week

Over the last few years, many new asteroids have been added to the various cosmic catalogs dedicated to them, in particular asteroids evolving near the Earth (near-Earth objects, or NEO). This recrudescence is not linked to the appearance of more and more asteroids, but to the improvement of the means of detection available to astronomers. The recent detection of the near-Earth asteroid 2020 QU6 by an amateur Brazilian astronomer is a good example. It also recalls the need for space institutions to continue to monitor and list near-Earth asteroids in order to prevent any threat.

The asteroid, called 2020 QU6, is about 1 km in diameter, enough size to have very serious consequences if it had hit Earth. However, it posed no risk to our planet because the object passed by Earth at a distance of over 40 million kilometers, more than 100 times the distance between Earth and the Moon.

Very relative proximity all the same ... 40 million km is not the next door anyway! : Cheesy:

Have any signs of life been found in the clouds of Venus?

A team of astronomers has detected phosphine gas about 50 kilometers above the surface of the second closest planet to the Sun. And it could be produced by alien microbes.

Life may exist on Venus. Or rather in its clouds: between 50 and 60 kilometers above the surface of the neighboring planet of Earth, “we find small quantities of phosphine gas, a substance present in the Earth's atmosphere because it is produced by microbes and by human technological processes, ”New Scientist reports.

As there is no known non-biological mechanism of phosphine production on Venus, it is therefore possible that this gas is produced there "by extraterrestrial microbes", adds the British science magazine.

This discovery is presented in a study published by the journal Nature Astronomy on Monday, September 14. It was carried out by a team of astronomers led by Cardiff University researcher Jane Greaves (UK), using data collected with telescopes in Hawaii and Chile.
