I too see the lady spinning sometimes CW, sometimes CCW.

I don't understand: I know myself well in dance! I try to make a logical analysis: if the leg which is towards me (= which hides the other) goes from left to right: CCW
if it goes from right to left: CW

but sometimes I see one sometimes I see the other.

Hello,
I walked a little diagonally but with interest this long forum.
Maybe I skipped the info, but did you see this slightly offbeat view:
http://blog-pr.asso-science.org/wordpress/?p=19
titled: Are we "using" our brain?
which is followed by:
http://blog-pr.asso-science.org/wordpress/?p=94
titled Brain, consciousness and I: the handle, the blade and the craftsman

Good reading

The ultimate dualism of Benjamin Libet

by sen-no-sen » 11/05/14, 13:34

There seems to be something in us that decides what we are going to do. This arbitration and decision-making about what we will do is the result of our will. If I have the intention to go running when the weather is gloomy and that after reflection I decide to stay at home in order to continue writing this post, I make a conscious choice that I owe to what in me freely decides . Indeed, nothing other than me decides to sit around typing on the keys of the keyboard of this computer rather than going out. At least, apparently ...

In fact, when physiology researcher Benjamin Libet asked (in 1983) a subject to sit facing a single key (a push switch) and to press it freely, that is to say when he saw fit , the scientist observed, in the reactions of the brain of the subject he collected, data which stirred the philosophical world.

In his experience Benjamin Libet to demonstrate that the brain activity was prior to the awareness of the action, and not the opposite as we might traditionally think!
