actually the surface is making waves!

it's the connection between the Z axis and the engine that creates these waves ...

So change this piece by a better one.

I also sanded the bed because the material is hard to hold!

Not found in the description if the machine operates the axes in open or closed loop. Before continuing to make objects, it might be a good idea to check the accuracy / repeatability of the movements of each axis, especially if the operation is in open loop. (Example: a hard point in the gear ratio of the motor of an axis and the displacement makes "waves" with a pitch which corresponds to the rotation of a pinion)

Yes, there is a hard point, because the part that couples the motor shaft to the filtée rod (Z) and misaligned ...

But the system of maintaining the Z axis is poorly done ..

All the weight of the trolley is on the engine so I am changing this part, with the addition of a bearing to support the trolley ... I will make photos of the mod.

For the open or closed loop story I have no idea ...

Not found much in the doc ...: Cry:

In inexpensive (Numerical Control) installations, one often finds stepping motors ... without encoder. The encoder is supposed to return the "exact" displacement. These motors can therefore only operate "blind" in an open loop. If a hard point or other has limited the actual displacement compared to the setpoint, it is transparent for the machine .... not for the result. In closed loop, with the use of the real displacement compared to the reference one could have corrections / information / error message (following error etc ...)

In short, whatever the installation, by making a small metrology of displacements we can better understand where the problems are. Also, on these simplified systems ... the result may depend on the speed of movement of the axes. At certain speeds (because of vibrations?) We lose movement steps and with faster or slower movements, it works very well. : Mrgreen:

Hello everybody
for finishing use acetone with a brush or steam.
What definition did you use to make the fan cone?
How did you check the flatness of the hotplate?

The printer is available for shipment on the shop: https://www.econologie.com/shop/impriman ... p-511.html

For regular members of forums, the 10% reduction is valid + carriage paid = the best price on the net for this 3D printer (big competitors included ...).
