maybe the Norwegian people have the same reaction to our massacres (well, yours! : Cheesy: ) oxen, cows and calves, chicks, chickens, pigs and that does not trigger a crisis of consciousness among those who eat their daily hams. Oh, hypocrisy! : Evil:
If on these 3 millions there are 2 millions of vegetarians, vegans, vegans, it leaves little room for the rest. :( : Cry:

There are very few reactions because we are between European countries and therefore "civilized" so we support each other. We swim in full hypocrisy, as always.

The whale is tasted in Norwegian restaurants. Two examples of Oslo restaurants with opinions from French customers:

The Nilsen Spiseri: https://www.tripadvisor.fr/ShowUserRevi ... ml#REVIEWS

The Rorbua Aker Brygge: https://www.tripadvisor.fr/Restaurant_R ... orway.html

On the menu, the whale steak is at 28 euros. It's really the dish of the poor : Mrgreen: :

It is fin whale or Minke whale. No blue whale, I'm disappointed ... : Lol:

Incredible but true: these restaurants are in the Michelin Guide, almost a national institution ! See the Aker Brygge: https://voyages.michelin.fr/europe/norv ... ker-brygge : Shock: : Mrgreen:

Fortifying tablet made from whale powder. It does not look like an industrial product at all ...:

WELCOME TO ANTHROPOCENE!
podcast in 4 episodes to listen to. testimonials and interviews of resilient people and scientists. The fourth episode is spent yesterday on France Culture. Many lessons!
"It is a new time, with eschatological resonances: the Anthropocene. A time when the human impact is such that it modifies the earth system and upsets the balance of the biosphere. A balance which had until then prevailed and which characterized the previous geological epoch, the Holocene. Climatic upheaval but also biological upheaval since we are talking about the 6th mass extinction. Since 1970, more than half of the wild animals of the planet have disappeared, 90% of pelagic fish have been sins and FAO promises a sea without fish in 2048. The dreadful heat in Australia kills animals https://www.laterredufutur.com/accueil/ ... ce-moment/
There is information that more than a million fish have died, stranded on the banks of rivers. The media also reported that the heat had killed in the space of 2 days, a third of the bats of New South Wales. Even kangaroos die from this heat wave.

The planet faces a massive decline of insects
A situation that could cause a "catastrophic collapse of natural ecosystems" if we do not change our habits.

Source AFP Posted on 11 / 02 / 2019

JACK GUEZ / AFP

Are insects threatened with extinction? This is the danger of a study that points out that nearly 50% of the insect species that are vital to ecosystems, but also to economies, are rapidly declining. The situation could quickly cause a "catastrophic collapse of natural environments". "The conclusion is clear: unless we change our ways of producing our food, insects will have gone extinct in a few decades," say the authors of this "scary" review, a synthesis of 73 studies, which point in particular the role of intensive agriculture.

Today, about a third of all species are endangered, "and each year about 1% is added to the list," said Francisco Sanchez-Bayo and Kris Wyckhuys, universities in Sydney and Queensland. Which equates, they note, "the most massive episode of extinction" since the disappearance of the dinosaurs. "The proportion of declining insect species (41%) is twice as high as that of vertebrates and the rate of extinction of local species (10%) eight times higher," they point out.

the worst extinction from my point of view is the extinction of human intelligence ............
Whether the dinosaurs have disappeared is ultimately in the "law of nature" ... lions or elephants, is it so important if they disappeared?
Is not it in the incantations of BOBOS hypocrites.
If we want to limit CO2 in the atmosphere, it's very simple: we have to ban tourism and increase working hours very strongly. But do we want it? the bobos of 16eme (arrondissement, not century!) I'm not so sure.
A Chinese worker who works 60 h / week for 50 € to make iphones or clothes for the western bobos produces only very few CO2 him; on the other hand the retired bobo 55 years who earns 4000 € / month he makes tons of CO2 every year !!!!! Indeed when we earn 300 € per month, we do not take the plane or the liner Cruise, bobos them so!

PVresistif, there is a contradiction in your wish: if the Chinese work so much (by emitting a lot of CO²!), it is largely because at the other end are those that you qualify as "Western sores". ..
From the point of view which concerns us, I do not see the interest to distinguish between the CO² resulting from the work of production and that produced during the work of consumption / symmetrical destruction :?:
From a naturalistic point of view, in fact, leisure or free time (as one wishes) correspond to phases of "restoration of the productive forces", as well as to the working time of consumption: the latter necessarily increases with increasing frequency. increase in the volume of goods placed on the market, an increase in itself due to the increasing productivity of production labor. By lowering the latter and increasing the other, we balance the system ...
