Without modern treatment, bubonic plague progressed to death from sepsis in 60% of cases, the sepsis and pulmonary forms being almost always fatal16.

A real treatment against the plague was not available until after the discovery of the bacillus by Alexandre Yersin in 1894. This was serotherapy with Yersin's anti-plague serum (1896), a serum obtained by immunization of the horse. Another historic treatment was phage therapy in the 1920s and 1930s.

The only antibiotic treatment that is truly effective (healing within a few days). Y. pestis is naturally resistant to beta-lactams but remains sensitive to aminoglycosides: streptomycin, gentamicin and kanamycin (for newborns), cyclins26, quinolones, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (TMP-SMX), rifampicin , although there are strains resistant to the latter.

Here, you have the right formula, provided you do not want to voluntarily distort the meaning.
The Spanish flu has made millions of deaths, between 20 and 100, against 41.887 current VOC deaths in the world, that's the story; our annual grippets are these details in question because only causing a few thousand deaths, like VOC and it has become so commonplace that no one pays attention to it, for proof none of the precautions for VOC like wearing effective masks have only been caught for flu this year. Statistically, like the post Adrien, seasonal influenza kills between 8.000 to 16.000 people each year and for VOC we are only 4.000 and it is likely that it will not reach 8.000.
