I have no other figures than the official figures. According to them, China has apparently visibly succeeded in containing the virus in its area of origin, with very few fatal cases outside Hubei. Now there is nothing to say that there can be no rebounds. We'll see.

It seems to me that the% of deaths is inversely related to the number of beds per 1000 inhabitants..2 per 1000 among Italians it is one of the lowest rates in Western Europe..with a respirator you are more lucky than your system immune system can fight the virus for a few more days ...

The curve was posted somewhere in the discussions ... but where?

19 p.m .: Record daily deaths in Italy with an additional 15 deaths
Italy has just announced 368 new deaths and 3.590 new cases, a 24-hour high. A total of 24.747 cases and 1.809 people died in Italy.

Italy will soon have more deaths than China .....

Italy on Tuesday added more than 3,500 new positive cases, bringing its total to 31,506. In addition, another 345 people with the virus have died, bringing Italy's total deaths to 2,503.

It doesn't work out with our transalpine neighbors. 475 dead in 24 hours.

The death toll from an outbreak of coronavirus in Italy has surged in the last 24 hours by 475 to 2,978, an increase of 19%, the biggest jump in numerical terms since the contagion came to light last month officials said on Wednesday.

The total number of cases in Italy, the European country hardest hit by the virus, rose to 35,713 from a previous 31,506, up 13.35%, the Civil Protection Agency said.

Yes, the curves of "number of cases per X inhabitants" are quite similar when they are brought back to the same origin. The virus does not seem to make any difference ..... at least until drastic measures are taken, but we will have to wait a bit to see the effects.

Rather, the question now seems to be in the capacity of different health systems to treat (keep alive) the sick.

Indeed, in a country surrounded by mafias (Cosa Nostra and worse, Ndrangheta), it is not surprising that public services are picking up.

A tight competition is in a pocket handkerchief ...

But we will note the beautiful escape from Switzerland ... the unknown outsider who had not yet been talked about since! *

What emotion as Guy Lux would have said!

Attention, not so much pocket handkerchief, it is a log scale!

* ah the carriers of dirty suitcases ... definitely it's doubly dirty : Mrgreen:

ps: wouldn't the epidemic of the high Rhine have a Swiss origin? well it's not very important today ...

reps: you should have rather posted these curves here health-pollution-prevention / coronavirus-covid-19-map-of-the-epidemic-in-real-time-t16331.html but we're closer to that! The corona he fucks the mess so far! : Mrgreen:

I would be careful, as far as I am concerned, to make forecasts ..... in addition based on sometimes distorted visions that one can have of such or such country, I do not speak of Italy in particular.
I said it here or on another thread, there will be scientists who will analyze all of this when it has calmed down. Guygadebois and Sicetaitsimple have the right to close it and to just observe the facts while waiting.

I have not made any predictions. Never.

The low number of hospital beds and the limited number of intensive care beds require drastic measures to stop the contagion

It is precisely the fear that the Italian healthcare system will fail to deal with these new cases which are of the greatest concern, and have led the Prime Minister to take such a decision. Because the low number of hospital beds (3,2 beds per 1000 inhabitants against 6 beds for France) and the limited number of beds in intensive care (5100, or a number close to 4500 in France for an equivalent population) impose to take drastic measures to stop the contagion.
