According to beekeepers, in France, bees are doing much better in town than in the countryside (TV reports on excess pesticides) !!
the problem is not simple but the us have more environmental scandals than us, but talk about it less !! (asbestos, anti-termite pesticides, etc.)
Christophe:
I would not be saddened more than that to know that New York traders will have no descendants ...

Their already born children, and future children full of diseases (epigenetics), like the children of Nazis, have nothing to do with it, but suffer !!

Pity them, and this pollution of the WTC will cause many more deaths, over 30 years, 30000, 100000 ?????

Mystery as for Chernobyl in Europe, as for chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, asbestos, with very varied diseases that it is impossible to link to a specific cause !!!
Asbestos is very specific with a disease due to 99% asbestos, but the actual death rate could be 10 times higher with the other diseases of probability increased by asbestos !!
Even a harmless drug like postmenopausal hormones increases deaths by 10%, unimaginable for a normal hormone, a priori !!!!

The first “official” compensation for the “infected from September 1” is finally falling.

These are in fact compensation aimed at reducing the impact of a large-scale popular lawsuit (probably the largest class action of all time in the USA).

Kind of like BP did with the Mexican oil spill ...

September 11 attacks: amicable agreement in the case of workers exposed to toxic dust

More than 10.000 people exposed to toxic dust during their work on the site of the World Trade Center after the attacks of September 11, 2001 joined an amicable settlement providing for the payment of more than 620 million dollars (450 million d 'euros), we learned on Friday.

The almost unanimous acceptance of the compensation agreement was announced by a court. It should end most of the lawsuits against New York City for failing to provide protective equipment to workers, police and firefighters who cleared the rubble. Only about 500 complainants declined the offer to settle.

But curiously, the mainstream media speak very little about this! It is probably the "biggest" asbestos contamination of all time!

Barely 2 articles on Google News : Shock: : Shock:

Here's the other: http://www.radio-canada.ca/nouvelles/In ... tees.shtml

In the United States, rescuers exposed to toxic dust on the site of the World Trade Center in New York after the attacks of September 11, 2001 have just accepted $ 625 million in compensation for health problems.

The out-of-court settlement, almost unanimously accepted, should end most lawsuits against New York City.

The complainants criticize the City for not providing protective equipment to the workers, police and firefighters who cleared the rubble from Ground Zero.

95,1% of the complainants joined these regulations, announced in March. It took at least 95% for the agreement to take effect.

Other agreements on the same matter could bring the total compensation to more than $ 725 million.

Just as laconic in the end ...

An average of € 45000 on average per rescuer already having problems with asbestos and other dirt breathed in, this is little, since their lives, in short, will be shortened much faster than the 30 years of incubation with lower dose asbestos.
They are being tricked, because they will have nothing, strictly, nothing more in the USA for the rest of their shortened life which will get worse in the future!
Therefore, insurances save a factor of 10 considering the price of care in the USA!
The number of 10000 will explode in the future and therefore 10 times and more over 30 years is to be expected !!
This pollution will cause many more deaths and sufferings by shortened lives (100 times more) only immediately on 11/9/2001 !!

45000 € when you're already dead (there is a package) well ... I don't really know what it's worth!

I think that in the end, there will be many more deaths from the pollution of 9/11 than the same day ...

Here it vaguely reminds me of a certain Gulf syndrome, quite ignored and undermined by the US gov ...

Some articles on the subject 10 years later:

Ten years later, the health problems of rescuers on September 11

Ten years ago, the New York terrorist attacks left nearly 2 people dead. Their consequences are still being felt on the health of thousands of people, particularly the rescuers who intervened at the World Trade Center (WTC), as shown by several studies published in a special file of the "Lancet" (September 800).

More than 50 people, rescuers, police, firefighters, construction workers, municipal employees were mobilized in Manhattan following the attack. Just over 000 of them participate in a follow-up program, which Dr. Juan P Wisnivesky (Mount Sinai School of Medicine) reports on over nine years. The cumulative incidence figures highlight significant physical and mental health problems: asthma 27%, sinusitis 000%, gastroesophageal reflux disease 28%, breathing difficulties (spirometric anomalies) 42%, depression 39%, post-traumatic stress disorder 42%, panic disorder 28%. Among police officers, these three disorders appear less frequent (incidence of 32, 21 and 7% respectively), perhaps because of their training, their experience of such a type of stress, the selection in the profession of people. high resilience or underreporting of psychological problems for fear of professional repercussions.

Cancer and mortality.

Another study, conducted by Dr. David Prezant, medical officer of the New York fire department, highlights an increased risk of cancer (19%) among firefighters who participated in the rescue. Among these, 263 cancers were identified against 238 expected in the general population. While, in the unexposed group, 135 cancers were diagnosed against 161 expected (the firefighters are doing better and smoke less). WTC dusts such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and dioxins are known carcinogens. But the authors remain cautious, because ten years is relatively little in terms of causation of cancer and that the organs affected were varied.

Despite these health problems and the risks associated with exposure to injuries and the dust cloud, rescuers and people who have worked on site have, to date, had a lower mortality rate than a comparable sample of the New York population. This observation can be partially explained, here again, by the good health of origin required of rescuers and hard workers. And by the latency period, often long, of cancerous or cardiovascular pathologies.

Still militant, "The Lancet" also examines the consequences of the government's reactions to the attacks, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq: military and civilian deaths - a study estimates in particular at 12 the number of civilians killed in suicide attacks in Iraq from 000 to 2003 -, destruction of health infrastructure, difficulties in accessing basic needs, such as clean water.

September 11 continues to kill in the United States

Studies show that the health consequences of those who helped the victims are still perceived ten years after the attacks of September 11, 2001. Explanations.

The heavy health toll of the September 11 attacks

Firefighters who came to rescue the victims have a 19% increased risk of cancer.

Firefighters exposed to smoke and toxic dust produced by the collapse of the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York on September 11, 2001, have a 19% higher risk of developing cancer compared to their colleagues who do not have not been mobilized. This is one of the main health consequences of these bloody terrorist attacks to which the British medical journal The Lancet devotes in its Friday issue, on the occasion of their tenth anniversary, a complete dossier.

The study, led by Dr David Prezant, medical officer of the Fire Department of New York, concerns 9853 firefighters under 60 and male, who intervened, for some, on the front line, at the scene of the attacks. Among them, 263 cases of cancer were identified during the seven years following the tragedy, against 238 expected in a similar general population. Among unexposed firefighters, 135 cases were identified, for a number of 161 expected in the general population - a lower rate which is explained by the good general health of these firefighters and their reduced smoking.

In the end, the risk difference between the firefighters directly exposed and the others is 19%. According to the authors, the association between exposure and cancer is "biologically plausible because some of the contaminants in World Trade Center dust are known carcinogens." These are in particular polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, dioxins or else polychlorobiphenyls. On the other hand, no significant increase in the risk of lung cancer has been observed, this type of cancer can take years to appear.

Another investigation by Dr. Juan Wisnivesky, of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, followed 27.000 people among the 50.000 who provided assistance and assistance: police, construction workers, municipal employees… Many of them they are still victims today of physical and mental pathologies. Doctors found that 28% had asthma, 42% sinusitis, 39% gastroesophageal reflux. Almost half have impaired breathing capacity. On the psychic level, 28% are suffering from depression, 32% from post-traumatic stress, 21% from panic syndrome ... The figures were much lower among police officers, more used to dealing with stressful situations.
Sad record

Imagining the data to be released on the 20th anniversary, Dr. Matthew Mauer of the New York State Department of Health commented that "the future is cloudy, like the acrid plumes of smoke were raised in New York ten years ago. "

One of the additional studies takes stock of the health impact of the reactions of the American government to the attacks to which the country was victim, namely the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq where 1568 and 4408 American soldiers were respectively killed, not to mention the deaths in Allied armies and civilian casualties. Between 2007 and 2010, 8832 Afghan civilians lost their lives and there are tens of thousands of deaths in Iraq. In this country, the number of victims of suicide attacks is estimated at 12.000 between 2003 and 2010.

The toll increases even more if one takes into account the wounded soldiers and civilians and the mental disorders which affect the survivors. Finally, access to basic needs has been made more difficult: 80% of the rural Afghan population drinks contaminated water. Besides, the health infrastructures of these two countries have been almost entirely destroyed or damaged.

At this moment the A6 presents September 11 10 years later by insisting on pollution, 5% of asbestos and its consequences, the dead long after, lies, cover-ups, and mysteries, as the impact of planes is not the only cause of the collapse of the towers and the truths of September 11 !! and accusations of complicity of the US state (WTC7 incomprehensible and false that it is the fires !!)
with truth seekers !!!
Still Americans ignore turn 7 without any investigation !!!
the US state lied to start a new war and make billions of dollars.
1400 architects think that the government's conclusions are impossible, especially on tower 7, possible only with explosives that have not been heard, for the first time that a skyscraper collapses by fire !!!
Also the contempt for the remains of the victims in the landfill dump, for 223000 tonnes poorly sorted, to be quick !!!
In addition more than 1000 dead after September 11 among rescuers and firefighters, sick and killed by pollution in 10 years !!
And the refusal to recognize the cause of their illness often, with the government, denying the health risks repeatedly!
Yet the secret analysis, 5% asbestos, 90% glass silica and everything in atomized offices !!
The inhabitants were sacrificed to restore the purse and the activity !!
Manipulations and lies, by C. Rice and the government have prohibited informing the public of the danger !!
Very valuable for insurances that have nothing to pay !!!
The Bush team's lies on pollution have and continue to cause deaths, to avoid evacuating all of Manhattan !!
The population has been intoxicated and half of the inhabitants currently have respiratory problems !!

Huge explosion in the entrance hall of the towers, proven by testimony and a shredded dead body as if by explosion in this hall !!
The architect Richard Gage with 1400 building professionals are asking questions ???
No access for the investigation to steel, structures, steel cleared and washed away quickly, hiding the causes, recycled and sold in China, and the official investigators were strongly refused plans, access and info !!
Same agreement required not to testify against if trial !!
They hid defects in the towers, the thinnest protection, 1cm, never tested, (protection less than an hour against fire, instead of more than 4 hours).
Other lies on the cause of the fall of the towers with insufficient fire protection from construction:

And on the A5 the assassination of Massoud 2 days before !!

About the burial of debris: the "bright" idea of decision-makers in NY, to make a park on the debris ... notice, we do well on our old landfills ... : Cheesy: : Cheesy:

Fresh Kills: a 11/XNUMX debris park

Posted on 01-09-11 at 11:44 am Modified on 05-09-11 at 17:42 pm

New York has chosen to look to the future and has set up a gigantic park where the rubble from the World Trade Center has been removed.

September 2001. Loaded with rubble, the trucks leave the World Trade Center. Leaving Manhattan behind, they head for Staten Island. The heavyweight noria drains rubble from what will become Ground Zero to the Fresh Kills landfill. The first loads leave from the night of September 11 to 12.

The huge open-air landfill in New York had been closed a few months earlier, after having collected the city's garbage for more than fifty years. The emergency department ordered the return to service of this site, opened in 1948. In a hellish round, the skips dumped the debris from the Twins Towers. Fragments of steel, concrete, aluminum. Human fragments. By thousands.

In the midst of these millions of tons of rubble, the New York police are responsible for recovering the smallest piece of body. Each fragment is numbered, kept in cold rooms. The long, difficult, essential work of identification begins.

On September 17th, artist DB Lampman will present his temporary installation titled "I Am Within". Lampan evokes our relationship to the earth and to each other. A symbolic performance on the way humans manipulate their environment. With a lot of buses, the public is invited to discover the site.

The site of the management of the parks of New York does not announce on the other hand any commemoration of the infernal round of the trucks of 2001.

New York looks ahead. Fresh Kills is no longer a landfill, it is a gold mine. Under the layer of earth, the waste will continue its slow decomposition. A gigantic network of drainage and pipes must make it possible to recover the gases resulting from this decomposition. The city plans to use the recovered methane as city gas and hopes to heat 22.000 homes and save nearly $ 12 million each year.

Willingness to turn the page

For authorities, Fresh Kills must become a showcase for sustainable development. The park serves as an open-air laboratory for questions of reforestation, renewable energy production, water management, etc. All of the park's infrastructure will be powered by geothermal, solar and wind power.

Despite this desire to turn to a future free of bad memories and ecologically flawless, September 2001 clings heavily to the momentum of September 2011. Because in the rubble of the World Trade Center, there were also toxic materials. Asbestos, mercury, benzene, even radioactive elements contained in smoke detectors, all products that are likely to flow into the park and its surroundings. In its report on post-disaster waste, the Robins des Bois association points to the health and environmental risks linked to the storage of such waste on a site where nothing was planned to receive dangerous products.
