After being rewritten and then adopted by the Senate, the health bill will again be submitted to the vote of the Assembly. The deputies and senators indeed agreed yesterday in the Joint Joint Committee on the new version of the text, written by the rapporteur in the Senate, Philippe Bas. A new version which provides in particular for the end of the exceptional regimes created to fight against the epidemic.

A PCR test of less than 48 hours to arrive on the territory

Concretely, if the text is voted as is, it will no longer be possible for the government to reactivate a health or vaccination pass, or to confine the population. The measure will take effect from August 1.

The other measure, which was rejected by the Assembly last week, concerns border protection. Thus, in the text validated yesterday, there is no longer any question of a health pass required for arrival on the territory, but of a simple PCR test of less than 48 hours. And this would only be requested for travelers coming from a country where a new variant considered particularly dangerous is circulating.

Towards a reintegration of unvaccinated caregivers?

Change also for the Overseas Territories and Corsica. If the initial version planned to present a health pass to get there, the new text stipulates that only a PCR test could be requested, and only if the hospitals on site were saturated. Finally, the Senate wished to reopen the question of the reintegration of the 2.600 unvaccinated caregivers. They can thus be reinstated, as soon as the High Authority for Health judges that the vaccination obligation is no longer justified.

The Assembly must therefore vote on this new text on Monday, before returning to the Senate the next day.
