Advances in the fight against the coronavirus

How to stay healthy and prevent risks and consequences on your health and public health. occupational disease, industrial risks (asbestos, air pollution, electromagnetic waves ...), company risk (workplace stress, overuse of drugs ...) and individual (tobacco, alcohol ...).

Could severe forms of Covid (as well as, perhaps, so-called long-covid syndromes) actually be an autoimmune disease generated by the virus?

Deray promoting a deal ???????
The nofakemed start to want to play doctors ?????

We think we dream.
Would he have been fired by the labs?
The fact remains that

Colchicine reduces the risk of COVID-19-related complications
Positive results from COLCORONA trial show that colchicine is the only effective oral medication for treating non-hospitalized patients

Yes but good with colchicine, you have to walk on eggshells, because:
Dose risk:

<0,5 mg / kg Gastrointestinal symptoms
0,5 - 0,8 mg / kg Systemic toxicity (10% mortality)
> 0,8 mg / kg Cardiovascular collapse, coagulopathy, acute renal failure (mortality close to 100%)

News on the variants, still too fresh to confirm: English variant more contagious, we knew but perhaps more deadly ... Boris Johnson said it tonight
First, the 501 v2 (South Africa) variant ...
What Happened On January 20, a pre-print came out of Rockefeller University. They took the antibodies from 20 volunteers who received an anti-mRNA vaccine and mixed it with viruses containing the mutations. This experiment, called the antibody neutralization test, allows researchers to determine whether the antibodies induced by the vaccine will be effective against new variants of the virus circulating globally.
What did they find? The effectiveness of antibodies against the mutations was reduced to a small degree (but statistically significant) (ranging from a reduction of 1 to 3 times).
- What does that mean ? The vaccine works against 501 v2 (thanks to the polyclonal response), but these mutations * may * affect the effectiveness of the vaccine. We need more real-world studies, in addition to well-controlled tube studies.

Second, the B. Variant 1.1.7 (UK) ...
There are three new studies (one by the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, one by Imperial College London and the other by the University of Exeter) which have shown that 1.1.7 is more deadly about 1.65 times ...

Data sources:
Rockefeller study: https://www.biorxiv.org/.../2021.01.15. ... 1.full.pdf
NERVTAG meeting report: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/.../NERVTAG...
I knew the AS story would come out at some point this week, so I prepared with two brilliant colleagues, Dr. Jessica Steier (public health scientist) and Dr. Andrea Love (immunologist). They both do a wonderful job at (http://www.unbiasedscipod.com).

What a wonderful job they are doing!

Well the news of the day is not good

When some said that the Pfizer vaccine had not been sufficiently tested on the elderly, they were called conspirators
Not to mention that they also correctly asserted that vaccines would be more likely to be less effective on the elderly
We are well off

Well the reality goes beyond fiction and hoping however that this is wrong
