Japan is the most technologically advanced country and if a background animism finds there a strange and paradoxical echo, it is also the result of "social distancing", of individualistic atomism and of a potential more attractive than a pretty harsh reality *. It is less a question of unemployment of oneself than of a vacancy of the social being, become incapable or unwilling to confront others. There is something of the order of the premonitory here: modern societies involved in an autophagous and destructive process end up inducing regulatory behavior in its members, a sort of self-apoptosis.

* What some here call, with a very unintentional humor, "seeking comfort"!

Pleonasm.
Yourself! : Lol:
In exponential economism, individuals relate to each other in a way mediated by the commodity, therefore and quite logically, the direct relationship to the commodity transforms the media into the object of the relationship and the "social" is erased. *. The big ontological difference is that if the commodity has a greater adequacy to the consumatory desire of its customer (this by definition), the being of the commodity always depends on a commercial instance which, as we see here, can failing and ruining much of the relationship.
I see in it a perversion or at least the ultimate avatar of an original cosmology (animism) which tried to give meaning to the World through the symbolic and real relationships that it established between all living beings, as well as non - real or imaginary alive, except that here it is the merchant mode which is in question.

* The means becomes the goal, as is often the case.
