Coronavirus: unemployment explodes in the United States
Last week, 6,65 million Americans filed for unemployment, bringing the total to 10 million over the past two weeks. All records are broken and the trend should continue. Some are already talking about an unemployment rate exceeding 30% soon.
It's a new record that has been broken. Never has a crisis been so severe and hit the US economy so quickly, when an unprecedented recession is coming. At this rate, the figures recently put forward by certain economists and which seemed dizzying will be quickly reached. The Saint Louis Fed, for example, mentioned an unemployment rate of 32% in the coming weeks, for a total of 47 million jobs destroyed.
