The worrying situation in Venezuela!

by sen-no-sen » 14/11/17, 20:48

The situation in Venezuela is particularly worrying, and this is not unrelated to the fact that this country constitutes the 1 st world oil reserve - mainly heavy oils -:

According to a report by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), the country led by Hugo Chavez last year had proven reserves of 296,50 billion barrels, the largest in the world.

Venezuela is richer in oil than Saudi Arabia. It is the annual report of the World Petroleum Organization (OPEC) that affirms it. This document indicates that the country led by Hugo Chavez, currently in Cuba for treatment of cancer, had at the end of last year 296,50 billion barrels of black gold that can be exploited, against 211,2 billion a year earlier. It thus surpasses the Saudi kingdom whose proven reserves have remained stable at 264,5 billion.

As Colin Campbell said: "tell me where are the large oil reserves and I will tell you where the major conflicts of the century will take place"

However, this is the path that Venezuela is taking, which after several failed coups (destabilization by force) is now in the throes of an economic collapse (destabilization by the economy):

The collapse of the Venezuelan economy in 6 figures

Foreign exchange reserves, oil production, exports, imports ... all the indicators are red.

Venezuela was declared, Tuesday, November 14, in "partial default" by the rating agency Standard & Poor's. An announcement that is explained by the decay of the economy.
Foreign exchange reserves are melting

Ruined by the fall in oil prices, Venezuela saw its foreign exchange reserves melt by more than 70% compared to their record of 2009. These fell to their lowest level in fifteen years, and a large part is difficult to mobilize because it is stockpiled in gold. This drying up of liquidity is hampering the government's ability to service the debt.

Saudi Arabia is also on the path to "change":
Dozens of princes, ministers and businessmen were arrested in Saudi Arabia during an anti-corruption operation described as "decisive" yesterday by the authorities, while the young crown prince Mohammed bin Salman continues to strengthen his grip on power.

We can draw a parallel between a state which can no longer sell the raw materials it exports (rent economy) and an unemployed person who can no longer monetize its labor force: the first case is macroeconomic, the second is micro ... Of course, the causes are not the same, except that both sell a devalued product.
Once the producing countries are ruined, those who will not fail to get their hands on these reserves will make good profits ... : roll:

Without speaking of conspiracy, because the situation is eminently more complex, one can only note that this country “not aligned” suffers some disappointments according to a calendar which is not trivial.
The paradox is that on the eve of "peak all oil", the price of black gold is relatively low, in particular because of the lifting of the embargo on Iran and the use by USA of their strategic reserves as well as the boom in shale oil.

The Saudi authorities are granting more and more freedoms to women.

The decision to allow women to attend meetings is part of the reforms implemented by Crown Prince ben Salmane.

For the first time in Saudi Arabia, women will be able to attend Ryad, Jeddah and Damman football matches in the Professional League from Friday, authorities announced on Monday.

What do you think it has to do with oil? : Wink:

Hello
What do you think it has to do with oil?
Perhaps they are the “oilers” of Arabia? : Mrgreen:
It is amusing (for our culture) to see, on the photo, these women putting "fluorescent" green caps on their veils. : Shock:
Now it's not been that long since French women didn't have the right to vote or a personal bank account and we hardly saw them on the football stadiums either! : Evil:

The wind of reform (whether political or societal) blowing in Saudi Arabia is there to confirm two facts:
1- the collapse of the oil rent due to the drop in economic prices
2- term exhaustion and above all the reduction in crude oil production, which is structural
If rent and immobility went hand in hand and reinforced an archaic tribal model, the new challenges facing the country can no longer accommodate them ... The changes envisaged to face them require the skills of all Saudis, including, of course, the female half. It is therefore not a reversal in favor of the human dignity of women that we are witnessing, but a strategic reshuffle to continue to maximize the dissipation of energy within this society.

Bingo!
This is indeed what is happening, this is joining the end of slavery in the USA: it is actually factors of adaptation to energy transformation that are at the origin of most * mutations social ... remains more than to dress the set of beautiful humanist clothes and the turn and played!

Sorry if I did not perceive this implied exclusion! : Lol:

Indeed and to add a layer, the human dignity of women is so little concerned, that they will continue, in other forms, to be despised, all like their male counterparts when they no longer represent the two emblematic figures of the consumer / producer ...

The liberation of women so dear to feminists is generally an illusion, it is above all an economic strategy aimed at maximizing the number of consumers.
Saudi Arabia is just following suit.
