He is the Special Rapporteur for the Right to Food (Populations) of the United Nations Human Rights Council from 2000 to March 2008. He was chosen in 2000 and 2003 but he will not present himself to his 2008 succession because he applies to one of the (3 on 18) positions 'reserved' to the Western group within the Council of Human Rights. His candidacy is officially supported by Switzerland. [4] As Special Rapporteur, he has studied the level of nutrition of the populations of many countries (Niger, Ethiopia, India, Bangladesh, Mongolia, Brazil, Palestine, Guatemala, ...). Reports on the state of food and malnutrition in these countries are available on the United Nations website [5], [6]
Writer
Jean Ziegler took part in the work of recognition of the theft of bank accounts (in Switzerland) of deportees for the benefit of Nazi Germany. [7] His work is described in his book: "Switzerland, Gold and the Dead" (1997, Seuil editions). He explains how Swiss bankers helped finance the Nazi war machine. Jean Ziegler is the author of several books on globalization and on what he calls crimes committed in the name of global finance and capitalism, condemning in particular the alleged role of Switzerland. He writes in French and German.
Controversies
A controversy arose in the early 1989s when Jean Ziegler suggested that the federal government invite Muammar Gaddafi to Switzerland. When asked, Ziegler confirms that Gaddafi invited him several times "because my books are translated into Arabic and he reads them". He admitted to having been consulted, just like other European intellectuals, when Libya wanted to create a human rights prize in 1989. Today Ziegler says that at the time, "he supported the prize because it represented a step towards an opening. " Time Magazine described him (in 8) as a member of the Gaddafi Prize jury. [9] Jean Ziegler denied having created this prize, having financed it, having received the prize or having been part of the jury. [XNUMX]

Still a great job by food multinationals who starve people to force others to make them dependent on their business
It's not nice progress?
After reading or listening to what J. Ziegler says, you will not see food as before !!!!
