Dynamo of bike in 12V, simple transformation

by Christophe » 19/06/09, 12:10

There will not be a lot of watts but it can help, especially to make brakes to charge electric bikes?

In this case, it would be necessary to start on 24V ... I think that it is therefore sufficient to change the capacitors by taking 24-30V condos but of what capacity?

: Arrow: Well I don't really see the point.
To charge an electric bike, you would need 24V mini and very often 36V. :?

If it is to put lighting in 12V, the power will be lacking ... diodes are then more efficient and do not require such high voltages.

The interest is that there are more devices which work in 12V than in 6V .... and that your remark on the power does not make sense. You can very well have a 6V bulb more powerful than 12V ...

For the 24V, that's what I'm saying ... the condos should be changed, but I personally don't know how to calculate them!

yeah, blah, the Latour doubler hardly allows a lot of current to be drawn and as soon as the load increases, we quickly become far from a DC voltage and the average value drops very quickly.
I prefer a chopper boost assembly. there are specialized components for that. at linear technology for example the LTC3814 which converts from 12V to 24V up to 4A with more than 95% efficiency

Bonjour Christophe

Your idea is very interesting and can also be done from the motor that drives the bike with some logic components, some mosfets and some capacitors.

and a 12V dynamo. This diagram is a voltage doubler only. Here is what I have in an old book:
