Re: Ethical novelty: crickets
we have always eat crickets https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grillon_(p%C3%A2t%C3%A9) but it's not insects ... it's real pig
finally the url does not pass in PHPBB3: it is necessary to add the last parenthesis so that it passes ... I am not sure to find a way to edit fast enough

Re: Ethical novelty: crickets
Not new insects, Christophe sold them in his shop. And I ate it as an aperitif dry stuff about thirty years ago.
I suppose that in certain buildings, considering the cockroach farms, we could consider living in autarky ...

Ethical because the production of crickets is a source of work in the world. Also, it is reasonable to consume insects because they do not suffer unlike our current diet. Thank you for your answer

I think the concept is innovative in France ... I believe that in the future the purchase of insects will be more important but it takes time

Re: Ethical novelty: crickets
Manon, you seem to have ethics (label?) easy, you write:
On the one hand, like any export crop, this breeding is likely to be done to the detriment of food crops (which are used directly for the food of the people of the vintage), all the more since it is proteins which are distracted from their food bowl, often lacking in this element. On the other hand, it accentuates the orientation towards monetarized activities, with what that entails as inevitable drifts (speculation, confiscation, unequal terms of trade, increase in inequalities and intra-community conflicts), in short, not large ethical thing in there ...
I suppose, because your explanation is laconic, that you mean by that that it provides an activity for poor populations who have locally few opportunities to find employment?Ethical, because the production of crickets is a source of work in the world.
