Fridge door magnet that no longer "sticks"

by fabio.gel » 26/01/16, 16:03

Do you have a technique to regenerate the fridge door magnet?
It "sticks" less and less to the fixed part : Cry: .

When I see the price of the spare part 120 € the two doors, I have the balls ...

Otherwise I found this: http://www.jeremplace.com/froid/joint-de-porte/kit-joint-a-talon-pour-refrigerateur-et-congelateur-700x1300-avec-aimant-474001,p-238_0.html

Yes, put it in contact with another magnet, very powerful for a few days : Cheesy:

Ideally a powerful electromagnet ...

Well agree with you, Fabio: more and more fridges require that we change the door to change the seal. And it's not for lack of exploring the net.

This summer, obediently listening to the ukases of planned obsolescence, I therefore changed the fridge: what good is it to change a room of this price on a 300-euro fridge of 18 years old.

I still have a consolation: the new consumes 1,5 to 2 kWh less / day (observed: I regularly keep a spreadsheet of my consos).

This is not economy: it is to ruin the dirty capitalist bourgeois who exploit us by selling us the current : Evil:

It's pure malice!

Conso fridge

Mine I bought it in 2000 - category A + - manufacturer's estimate 268 Kwh / year but now with the oil seals I think that the consumption should fly away : Evil:

When I look at the price of an A +++ fridge (€ 748)
http://www.ubaldi.com/electromenager/froid/refrigerateur/siemens/refrigerateur-combine-siemens--kg36ebw40--980667.php
annual consumption: 149 Kwh

268-149 = 119 Kwh x 0.15030 = € 17 in electrical savings per year.
748/17 = 44 years to amortize it (knowing that the price of electricity will not drop).
Suddenly, I prefer to retype mine even to isolate it more and to rework its cooling at the back so that the performance improves ...
