Exactly Jonule, that's what I'm going to do! +1 well seen 8)

Almost what my parents' new boiler consumes each year. he was changed 4 years ago.

Yes ... there is a problem ...

Well I estimated at the time that a shower (50L) was 2kWh.

Let's do the math together.

Let's say for a "big" shower that you need 100L of water at 35 ° C.
The water reaches 15 ° C.

It is therefore necessary to mount 100L of 20 ° C.

Consider an energy: 100 * 4,18 * 20 = 9600 kJ

1kWh = 3600 kJ therefore 9600 kJ is equivalent to 2,67 kWh with a system efficiency of 100%.

We can therefore conclude that a shower will therefore consume between 2 and 3 kWh. and therefore your estimate for a 5kWh bath is correct.

Your consumption of 5kWh is all the more worrying as you preheat with solar ...

I therefore predict:

a) a faulty measurement (HS device)
b) a defective connection either by wear or by design

By the way is this the first time that you measure?

Yes ... but ... me, it is not cold water which arrives in the electric boiler, it is water at + - 65 ° C ... : Shock:

Precisely, I put it in remark.

Start by calibrating your device and take a measurement with the Electrabel meter ...

Hello

How much is the temperature of the electric boiler to be set, if the thermostat is set to more than 70 ° it is normal for it to heat up?

non

Hello,
Even if the thremostat is incorrectly adjusted, the 5 Kwh is not needed to go from 65 ° C (with losses) temperature of the water coming from the solar boiler to X ° of the electric boiler

Let's wait for its "calibration" before thinking about it :)

I think I found where the bottom hurts.
Explanations tomorrow, when I will have checked the consumption again.
