A very simple idea to reduce your consumption of dish sponge is to cut a new scratching sponge into two pieces with a pair of scissors.
Several advantages:
1) on two half sponges compared to a whole sponge increasing the surface of the scraping edge to scour the hollows of sharp angles
2) easier to clean the bottom of the glasses
3) easier to scratch difficult areas
4) 2 half sponges have a longer lifespan than a normal sponge
A sponge that lasts longer

Yes why not ?

To rub, you must not have big fingers ... Otherwise the nails are also used for scratching ...
Wider, stronger glasses are better for everyday use (capacity and stability)
I also use this sponge for around the sink, and to wipe the table after the meal. With half a surface, it becomes tedious.

wonder what Christine will think of the method ...
It would be applicable for a good number of products in the house ... and even for the PQ, you just need not have too big fingers (or one too wide .... biiiiiiiip)

If the half paperQ is not enough, you tweak with the scraping half-sponge, available, slightly moistened.

Will the hedgehog be satisfied with a half companion?
I would not go further on this path ... "slippery" ...

the half sponge is that for the dishes, I have big fingers and no problem with the nails sticking out, try and you will be convinced.
On the other hand, for large surfaces to be cleaned, a whole sponge must be kept.

Hello,
the subject of SVET being locked (spam) on microfiber sponges, I speak here since we are talking about sponge.
microfiber cloths (we don't care about the brand) I use them at home, it's all good. where it is the best, it is to clean the plastics in cars; just moisten the cloth. No more or less polluting cleaner.
A+
