Japan, in any case the ABE fire, was looking for an alliance with NATO to deter China from being invasive.

But exactly as in Russia, it is a dangerous mechanism to come and militarily tickle one empire from another...

Finally, Japan's pacifist position (and I'm not talking about the ocean) no doubt also has its virtues.

There is the "Security Treaty" between Japan and the USA. It is generally confused with the Treaty of San Francisco but it has nothing to do.

Under this treaty any attack on Japan will be considered an attack on the United States. No need for NATO.

Anyway, there are 100000 Americans in Japan, including 50000 soldiers. There is also the US 7th Fleet HQ in Yokosuka and the US Forces Far East HQ in Tokyo. It is hard to see the USA not responding to an attack by China, Russia or North Korea.

The French army recently participated in exercises with the Japanese army, it was on the island of Kyushu after a simulation of an "enemy" landing. The English Navy regularly conducts naval maneuvers with the Japanese Navy, and English Navy units are stationed in Japan.

Prime Minister Kishida has again stated that Japan will intervene militarily if Taiwan is attacked.

For those interested, the Wikipedia page on the Japan/USA Security Treaty (this page is quite well done): https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trait%C3% ... t_le_Japon

After the JS Izumo, it is the JS Kaga which is being transformed in the Kure arsenal near Hiroshima. The JS Kaga will be able to accommodate the F-35B vertical take-off bomber fighters.

Japan has no external debt and it is still the world's leading creditor (or second behind China), not bad for a country overwhelmed by debt... and this debt could be canceled at any time.

it's not as simple as that...

It is true that Japanese debt is mainly held by Japanese people.

But to cancel the debt is to ruin those who hold it.

Japan is an aging country, which has few children, and lacks physical resources, with many retirees.

It compensates with a high technological level and products with high added value.

But the balance is fragile.

Beyond the economic aspects, I would advise the Japanese to have children...

with 1,36 children per woman, they halve their population in 2 generations, notice the Japanese debt, no one will care when there are 2 inhabitants left... : roll:

Demography cannot explain the fact of the generalization of debt as the engine of all modern economies.
In Japan, a special form of adaptation to "modernism" is observed, a phenomenon which leads to a sharp decline in its population. This evolutionary feedback seems quite remarkable to me: society is gradually annihilating itself because of its addiction to the mechanical world... A revenge of the Kamis?

South Korea has the same problem without economic difficulty.

Developed Asian countries have drastically reduced their birth rates. Well below population maintenance threshold.

Indonesia is still experiencing slight population growth.

stratospheric is not the word...

South Korea's debt is around $500 billion

and its GDP of 1500 Billion $

very industrious country, industrial, very high IQ of the population, exporter...

I don't worry too much about them...

to be compared to France in 2022... : roll:
