Live, prosper, eat ...! Consomlation @Arte

Tomorrow evening on Arte:

Live, prosper, consume ...!

A squeaky analysis of the evolution of consumer behavior.

In the modern consumer society, the new and the beautiful are no longer enough: you have to have (sometimes several copies) the latest high-performance products. Purchases are no longer intended to meet basic needs, but to satisfy our desires, to be envied, to impress. Result : the happiness that comes with acquiring a new object is always more ephemeral; we are in the grip of a feeling of permanent dissatisfaction. In addition, the lifespan of products continues to decrease, leading to the depletion of resources and the accumulation of waste. Behind the attitude of these bulimic buyers looms a real disaster scenario. Is it too late to stop the machine we started? Sociologists, psychologists, philosophers, marketers and advertising specialists return to the limits of consumerism and our unrestrained search for happiness.

It started, it's a bit boring in fact! : Cheesy:

It is in fact (I had not seen) a doc made in USA translated ... therefore necessarily ... as we have different consumption scales ... :|

Ah, it's much more interesting: link between material wealth and social relationships ...

To sum up: the richer we are, the less social (sociable?)

To sum up: the richer we are, the less social (sociable?)

Touching hesitation!
This opposition is not surprising since it conforms to the most basic logic. Wealth has meaning only in relation to poverty; these two terms are bound to coexist or to disappear together.
From this it emerges that if there is a wealth gap in a society, it can only be at the expense of solidarity and cohesion (the first term being more social and the second sociability) ...

The thank you box

But in fact I think (personal opinion, it was not in the docu) that we need to clarify this assertion, namely:

The more wealth, the less social the individual but the more the community is! At least in appearance ...

In fact the rich individual (rich = all rich countries) is made social by obligation via his contributions and various taxes and levies ... problem: the human relationship completely disappears in this "artificial socialization" !!

but if all its taxes exist it is to avoid that the poorest revolt it allows to maintain a gap between poor and rich sufficiently reasonable so that the poor can still hope to change their social status ... ....... .........One day

otherwise I like Christophe's posts I have the impression of living a CDM match live text on eurosport ^^
