Macron: for peace in the EU:
Let's bet on weapons!

- "I call for massive reinvestment in our defense industry. we have to give ourselves the means",

French President Emmanuel Macron has called for increased investment by European countries in the defense industry, noting that some of them have now become dependent on the solutions and capabilities of industrial companies outside Europe.

"I call for a massive reinvestment in our defense industry. If Europeans want peace, we must give ourselves the means," he said on Friday at the Munich security conference.

According to Macron, Europe needs "rearmament" by strengthening the productive and technological base. In this context, he noted that many European countries, due to the assistance provided to Ukraine, "became dependent on the decisions of non-European countries and, to a large extent, on the capacities of non-European industrial enterprises" .

In this context, Macron urged to follow the example of France, recalling that under the updated defense strategy, which he presented in November 2022, the French military budget from 2024 to 2030 should increase by 60 billion. euros, i.e. up to 400 billion euros. "This military economy, [the transition towards] which we want to accelerate in France from this spring - we want to go even further, we want to go towards more standardization, more simplification and do everything on European soil", a- he declared.

"If Europe wants to defend itself, it must arm itself and take advantage of the advantages of cooperation within NATO, but also increase its production capacities on its territory", added the president. - I hope that we will adopt the European Defense Investment Program before the summer. With the Europeans we need to discuss how far we can go and do it as soon as possible."

The French leader also stressed the importance of nuclear deterrence in the context of the current conflict in Ukraine. In this regard, he noted the special role of France in protecting the allies, as well as the role of Great Britain and the United States. "This situation confirms the important role that nuclear weapons have played and continue to play in the EU and in NATO," he said. Macron said he considered it important to reaffirm NATO's nuclear status and called on all European partners to participate in a dialogue on nuclear deterrence from France and on "France's conception of its vital interests in the European dimension".

With a common Europe of defence, we would be independent of the other powers.

Comrade nostalgia?

The Europe of common defense was the principle of the SS which could welcome under the same banner very different nations...
There were even Muslim SS... (in the corner of Turkey or the Balkans, it seems to me...)

Ah wow, do you think that the USA would no longer be an occupying force in the EU (but that it is a lame reflection)

General De Gaule was right, not this speech modeled on his thought fifty years too late and after having entered NATO against the advice of the French (and since until then, he had made almost no application while rejoicing at the rearmament of the Germans… No seriously? : Shock: : Oops: ) do you want us to 'analyze' your stremedroate posts a bit or do you prefer to stay in the 'comedy entertainment' : Oops: : Shock:

Georgia: Foreign Agents Law:
Threat of US sanctions!
You said "democracies?"

Source: Kommersant:
“At the end of February, members of the Georgian Power of the People movement submitted to parliament two draft laws on foreign agents: “On Transparency of Foreign Influence” and “On Registration of Foreign Agents”.
The “Foreign Influence Transparency” bill recognizes as agents of foreign influence non-profit organizations and media whose annual revenue is more than 20% foreign funded. This will not affect organizations founded by administrative bodies and sports federations. Organizations will be required to register as agents and file financial reports annually. In case of violation, they will be liable to a fine of 25 lari (about 000 dollars). It was this document that was approved by the Georgian parliament on March 9

While in Georgia the street is resisting the repeal of the "foreign agents" law [US in the crosshairs].

BRICS as "peace keepers" who promote "non-interference"?

Open door for a "cultural, non-belligerent and virtuous anti-liberalism"?

Would Jamal Khashoggi have agreed?
