No, it's just a threat, vile opportunistic blackmail.

"Blackmailing the agricultural shortage in Germany" would agree with the text.

Po prevent shortages, the government undertakes to distribute fertilizers and potting soil to the French
By Samuel Piquet Posted on 01/04/2020 at 16:52
While the food shortage is looming for certain products, the government announced this morning, through its Prime Minister, that it would give each French person what to make a beautiful vegetable garden. And if that is not enough, citizens will be given a shovel and a bucket.
"The government is committed to distributing fertilizer and potting soil to all French people to prevent a possible shortage. This is an idea that we have been thinking about for a very long time because, as you can see, we have been preparing for the coronavirus crisis for many months, "Edouard Philippe said this morning at a press conference organized for the 'opportunity. The Prime Minister then specified that it was a soil of "very good quality, tested and approved by Monsanto".
The government has also thought of all citizens who do not have a green thumb and has planned for this purpose "daily tutorials available on the government website and animated by the spokesperson Sibeth NDiaye". Note that each evening, Bruno Le Maire will come to your house to verify that you have followed the instructions of the executive to the letter, that your vegetable garden does not exceed 8 square meters and that your rows of plants are straight.
STRENGTHEN YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM
The government will also communicate to each Frenchman the recipes most suitable for strengthening his immune system. "A team of scientists is also working on the best combinations of vegetables, both to guarantee better immunity but also to replace hydroxychloroquine and further lower the viral load of patients infected with Covid-19, which the alliance Jerusalem artichoke and parsnip is poised to succeed, according to several experts, "said the Prime Minister.
Finally, as it will undoubtedly be complicated to produce any type of fruit or vegetable in its own garden, the government is considering creating a new certificate of derogatory travel which will also relate to the picking of strawberries, blackberries or mushrooms.
Ah damn it's probably a (bad) fish ... : Mrgreen:

Re: The coming food crisis of Coronavirus!
Does any of you have data on:
-the quantities of food produced by region in France
- or by type (cereals, meat, milk, fruit ...)
- either an import and export%
Would it be interesting to see which regions can potentially be "autonomous"?

For distribution, source wikipedia
Wheat production: 37 million tonnes, or 500 kg per capita per year. We will not run out of pasta
Maize production: 18 million tonnes - more than enough for polenta and to feed chickens
Barley production: 11 million tonnes - there is no shortage of beer
Sugar production: 33 million tonnes. We can stop processing it to make ethanol for cars
We will have seasonal vegetables (potato, carrot, salads, cauliflower, ....) apples, grapes and therefore pinard.
We are going to have a big problem with beef since 3/4 of the food comes from the US or Brazil (soy).
And problems with what we don't grow / harvest here: rice, shrimp, salmon, mangoes. We can do without.
