"God" as an abstract entity would not be represented, so the latest Charlie Hebdo drawing can, by definition, only hurt idiots ...
on 6.9 billion it's still 3.8 billion idiots against a handful of smart.
Abstract representations have no claim to describe a reality, but to symbolize it only. When LA France is symbolized by Marianne nobody takes it for it precisely because it is abstract and the flag too. But go piss at the foot or flag or tag this Marianne and you will see the legal defenders of symbols make you miseries.
But Charlie likes to fire the powder but is surprised that it explodes in the nose in the name of freedom of expression is only provocation.

If the caricature had focused on a religious figure, there might have been something to say about it, but on the "great architect" and his Masonic triangle on his head is really controversial for nothing ...

Great Architect of the Universe
Although frequently used in freemasonry and companionship, the concept of Grand Architect of the Universe is not of Masonic origin. It comes under the philosophy of religions and theology and only incidentally Masonology.
History of the Great Architect of the Universe [edit | change the code]
The idea of a Supreme Being whose intelligence would order the universe, as a "great architect" or a "great watchmaker" could be, is constitutive of what is called the Natural Religion1. It is already found in Cicero:
"What is more manifest and clear, when we have looked up to heaven and contemplated the heavenly bodies than the existence of a divinity of absolutely superior intelligence that regulates their movements? [...] not only does the heavenly and divine abode have an inhabitant, but he who lives in it exercises a leading action on the world, he is in a way the architect of such a great work and watches over its maintenance [ ...] 2

Then all believers are not theologians (the author of this caricature no longer probably) but this cover "ambiguous" does not deceive anyone.

In memory of the January 7 attack, Charlie Hebdo released a special issue on Wednesday with a bearded God, armed with a Kalashnikov and in a bloody coat, under the title: "1 year later, the murderer is still running "

So if Charlie had targeted his drawing precisely to those who did these acts of violence, he would have obtained the approval of all non-violent believers, but there he makes a globality that is not acceptable to them.
