Green light for the installation of 70 wind power plants in Fruges in Pas-de-Calais

The Douai Administrative Court of Appeal authorized the installation of a 70 wind farm in Pas-de-Calais, confirming the authorization given by the Prefect in 2004 but annulling the decision of March 2005 of the administrative court of Lille .

Worldwide, wind power production capacity reached 47 MW, up 317% in 20, according to Global Wind Energy Council, a union of wind power industry manufacturers. Germany ranks first (2004 MW), ahead of Spain (16 MW), the United States (629 MW) and Denmark (8 MW).

France is far behind its European neighbors in terms of wind energy production. It has 407 MW of installed capacity, according to ADEME. Languedoc-Roussillon leads the way, with 122 MW, followed by Nord - Pas-de-Calais with 59 MW and Brittany, with 41 MW.
