SimSol: a free solar simulator to be downloaded by CSTB and ADEME
Simsol is a free software for predicting the thermal performance of solar installations.
Features
This new software was developed within the framework of a collaboration with the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME) and CSTB.
The tool is based on dynamic simulation (one hour time step calculations) with TRNSYS. Six configurations of collective solar installations have been defined:
- External primary exchanger and separate centralized back-up
- External primary exchanger and integrated centralized back-up
- External primary exchanger and separate and instantaneous centralized back-up
- Variant for the discharge of solar stock
- Internal primary exchanger and separate centralized back-up
- No primary heat exchanger and separate centralized back-up
