Discussion paper on meat consumption in the world and in major developed and developing countries by tonnage and type of meat: cattle, sheep, swine and poultry.

In 2003, we consumed on average in the world 38.7 kg of meat per year per inhabitant. This figure is only increasing with economic development and improvement of the average standard of living.
