Heat and cool while saving energy

"Climate protection through heating and cooling by
surface geothermal energy ”: this is the title of the first congress devoted to geothermal energy and organized at the higher technical school (FH) of Biberach on the 4th
November 2004.
Under the supervision of Mr. Roland Koenigsdorff -professor at the FH in building air conditioning technology- and Mr. Dirk Lyens of the company EnBW AG,
the debates will focus on energy savings.
Geothermal energy, designated by specialists as renewable energy
“Underestimated”, might be able to make important contributions to primary energy savings and climate protection, by heating buildings with heat pumps in connection with geothermal heat sources near the surface. Efficient and economically attractive systems are currently being developed.
development, and although some of them have already been completed, the
geothermal still remains unknown.
The objective of the congress is thus to inform about the possibilities of geothermal energy and also to discuss examples of applications with specialists and users.
