Chernobyl: a million dead in 20 years?

One million deaths following Chernobyl, this is the figure put forward by a publication of the New York Academy of Sciences based on a compilation of 5000 articles.

Analyzes according to P.Langlois:

According to a book published in 2010 by the New York Academy of Science titled "Chernobyl: Consequences of the Catastrophe for People and the Environment", there would have been 985 000 deaths that are attributable to this accident (1986-2004), not to mention countless sick people and children born deficient and / or deformed. This book is the result of a study covering 5 000 articles written by Russian doctors and specialists who have been at the heart of this drama and have cared for the people. ( You can download the book here).

This finding of almost one million deaths contrasts with the few thousand deaths officially "recognized" by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The book editor, Dr. Janette Sherman, a toxicologist, explains in an interview why such a difference, and reveals a little unknown secret, that the IAEA and WHO reached an agreement in the 1950 years so as not to publish a report without the mutual consent of both organizations. These organizations would have overlooked a lot of data, relying on 200 to 300 articles, while the New York Academy of Science book relies on 5 000 articles and research reports.

In addition, regarding the Fukushima nuclear accident in Japan, another doctor specializing in the biological effects of nuclear radiation, Dr. Helen Caldicott gave a lecture:

The numbers it gives and their impact on human health and all living things on this planet are chilling!

For example, in each damaged reactor, there are 1000 times more radioactive products than the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima in Japan in 1945. And there is 10 to 20 times more radioactive material in the swimming pools, next to the reactors, to cool nuclear fuel used in the past 40 years. Madam Caldicott talks about “evil numbers”. She continues with the effects on humans of the various radioactive elements emitted in Fukushima. (…)
